## Understanding SOS Alerts When a runner presses and holds the SOS button for 3 seconds: 1. Device sends immediate alert with GPS coordinates 2. Alert appears on Race Director dashboard 3. Audible notification plays 4. Runner location is highlighted on map ## Responding to an SOS ### Step 1: Acknowledge Click "Acknowledge" on the alert to: - Stop the audible notification - Mark the alert as seen - Record timestamp ### Step 2: Assess Review: - Runner's current location - Nearest checkpoint or access point - Time since alert - Any communication from runner ### Step 3: Coordinate Response 1. Contact nearest aid station 2. Dispatch medical personnel if needed 3. Keep runner's emergency contact informed ### Step 4: Resolve Once situation is handled: 1. Mark runner status (continue, DNF, medical evac) 2. Close the SOS alert 3.
