## Before Race Day

### Device Preparation (Day Before)

- [ ] Charge all devices to 100%
- [ ] Verify device count matches your inventory
- [ ] Test-assign a few devices to confirm app connectivity
- [ ] Brief volunteers on the assignment process

## Packet Pickup / Bib Assignment

### Using the Volunteer App

1. Open the Tracios Volunteer app
2. Tap "Assign Device"
3. Enter the runner's bib number (or scan QR code)
4. Tap phone to device (NFC)
5. Confirm assignment on screen

### Runner Instructions

Tell runners:
- Wear the device on chest/waist, not covered by hydration vest
- Do not remove until finish or official DNF
- Press SOS button firmly for 3 seconds if emergency

## During the Race

### Monitoring Dashboard

- View real-time positions on the live map
- Check device battery levels in Fleet View
- Review checkpoint crossing times

### DNF Collection

When a runner drops:
1. Record DNF in the system
2. Collect the tracker
3. Use "Device Return" in the app

## Finish Line

1. Record finish time (auto-detected from tracker)
2. Collect device from runner
3. Process return via volunteer app
4. Check device back into inventory
